As we celebrate the third day of Hanukah, Israeli tour guide Yoram Preminger will take us on a virtual tour of sites in Israel connected to the Maccabees and the Maccabean revolt. Modi'in, known to be the home town of the Maccabees, is in the area known as the Lowlands. Our tour will take us to different sites in that area that will shed light on the story of Hanukah and the Maccabean revolt. We will zoom in to the caves of Beit Guvrin National Park, with its unique archaeological remnants from the Hellenistic period. We will visit Tel Gezer and the Tomb of the Maccabees.
Mr. Preminger is a graduate of Tel Aviv University Department of Film and Television. Before his career as a tour guide, he worked in the Israeli Educational TV Center and in a variety of TV productions. He has been working as a tour guide with a variety of groups and individuals from English speaking countries. Yoram was the tour guide on CBI’s latest congregational trip to Israel and we are excited to reconnect with him!
